Post by Waka786 » Sun Sep 30, 2018 5:41 am

Thank you for your email. Your application for naturalisation continues to
be processed.
Your application is currently being processed with a view to establishing
whether it meets the statutory conditions for the granting of
naturalisation, such as good character and lawful residence, and will be
submitted to the Minister for decision as expeditiously as possible.
This office will be in touch as soon as a decision has been reached.

Can anyone guide me what stage is it? Always says continues.

Looks like Stage 2 - Some times Garda doesn't provide information regarding offences etc and that's why there is a delay (what a nightmare).

What is the basis of your application? non-eu or eu?
seems to me that your application is still in the first stage. The only thing you can do right now is just to be patient I'm afraid

I applied based on non-EU +5 years residency, the first week of March and I received the approval last week. Over that last 6 months I have not received any requests from INIS, asking for more info or documents. Have you? if that the case, I assume that could delay the process. Otherwise, be patient hopefully you'll get the approval soon and in time for the next Ceremony in November 26th.

Waka786, having just received approval I can help you range find a little. The next ceremony is 8 weeks from today. INIS state invitations (completed, paid approvals) are sent 4 to 5 weeks in advance of the date of the ceremony. The approval letter gives you ten days to pay the fee provide photos GNIB card etc. So if you do not receive approval by say the 15th October I doubt you would be at the November ceremony — gear up for April/May 2019 based upon historical dates.

Also, your INIS response wording doesn’t sound Second Stage to me. My letter unequivocally states “Your application has now been initially assessed and has proceeded to the second stage of processing”. Following this sentence was the same paragraph about a view to establishing whether you meet etc etc.
