changing from Tier 1 dependent to Tier 2 general

Hi,

I came to UK as tier 1 dependent and i got job here. Now my employer is willing to provide me sponsorship.
So i will be going back to India to apply for it. Also my husband is going to change his visa from tier 1 to dependent of mine.

I have some questions regarding this.

1) Can i apply for my husband's tier 2 general dependent visa simultaneously when i apply for tier 2 general visa as main applicant?

2) As my husband was in Tier 1, he was having small business in UK. Can he continue to have his business in UK even after changing to tier 2 general dependent and also work for any company?
