Tax Relief for Expenses of Employment on Tier 2 Visa

Post by krlmrt25 » Tue Oct 02, 2018 9:15 am

Good Day!

I have a tier 2 visa and working in the NHS since 2016.

Dec 2017 I applied for Tax Relief thru the HMRC for Flat Rate expenses and Prof Subscription.

I saw an advertisement of the tax relief thru the Nursing and Midwifery Website when I was renewing my license that’s why I thought I could apply.

I got a £58 tax refund from that application.

However, I got worried after reading about refused visa renewals from the Home Office because of Recourse to Public Funds for tier 2 visas.

Did I make a mistake by applying for the tax relief? Will this affect my visa renewal application?

Thank you very much for all the advise that you can give.

I know childcare voucher is not use of public fund though it provides tax relief. Similarly any tax relief is not considered as use of public fund.
