Dear all,
I am a Spanish national who is currently studying in the UK for one year. My wife (non-EEA national) is currently living with me and she plans to study and work while in the UK (she entered the UK just with her passport as she is a non-visa national). We arrived to the UK a couple of weeks ago and we both have some savings to live in the UK.
We now want to apply online for a residence certificate (for me) and a residence card (for her) so she is able to work. She is not currently looking for a job as the stamp she received when entering expressly says "employment and recourse to public funds prohibited".
Therefore, we would really appreciate if you could help us with the following:
1.- Our understanding is that if I apply for a registration certificate (using the link copied below) and I include her in the form, she will receive a residence card in the event the application is successful:
https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/product/eea-qp
2.- The documentation we plan to provide is the following, so we would appreciate to have your comments to see if it's enough:
- Both passports (we plan to use the European Passport Return Service).
- Certificate of our insurer proving that we have insurance.
- Marriage Certificate (and pictures of the wedding).
- Certificate from my university proving that I study there.
- A simple copy of the tenancy agreement (we are both named in the agreement). This document was signed in counterparts (i.e. two originals, one signed by the landlord and one by us).
- NHS Registration confirmation letter sent to each of us.
- Tenancy deposit protection certificate on which both of us are named.
- Internet bill to my name.
- A couple of bills to the name of my wife of goods she bought recently.
- A letter from the supermarket delivering a card to my wife.
- Certificate from our banks specifying the savings we have.
3.- We got married approximately 2 years ago, and before coming to the UK (we arrived a couple of weeks ago) we lived for almost 5 years together. Therefore, we were planning on also including documents which prove we lived in the same address before coming to the UK (some receipts or purchases made, visa applications for other countries which include our former address (e.g. Australia), etc). Therefore, do you think that this may be relevant?
We really appreciate any comments on this before submitting the application.
Best regards
Francisco
