Can I give a resignation notice before I get the BRP card?

Can I give a resignation notice before I get the BRP card?

Hi,

I got the approval for my ILR on 5 years tier2 route yesterday at the premium service centre Croydon.
I received the letter which stated my right that I can take/change employment without any restriction. My BRP card is still to arrive in 3-10 working days but I’m planning to give a resignation notice today. Is it safe to do so? Please advise. Thank you very much.
