Hey guys. I applied for a stamp 4 based on my married to an Irish National 13 months ago (I am an asylum seeker). Today I got a letter asking for some documents (that we had already sent) to be sent within 21 days in order to finalize my process. Is that a good sign?

Asylum from Brazil? And now married. They are naturally suspicious has your claim been adjudicated vallid?. They will need solid evidence that your marriage is forr real and your partner is working here. Hire a Barrister, a good one will cost a lot because the onus is on you to prove your case.

Hi lucidj,
I am in the exactly the same situation and with timelines the same with you. I applied in May 2017, I got a letter asking to send again all original document in May 2018. But I know a girl who went the same route as we did and she already got the Stamp 4. She was also asked to send all her original documents after 12 moths of waiting. After that she waited for 4 more months until the reply. So in total she was waiting for 16 months. I am expecting to wait the same for myself and you at least now know approximately how many more months you can wait. This is terribly long and I just cannot imagine why

Just updating my case. I sent the letter with the documents on the 30th of may. I haven't heard from them yet and I am hoping to get the documents back soon as they usually take around a month to send it back. I am also hoping to get my visa approval letter as this is most people experience , get the documents back with the approval letter attached

Congratulations on your approval letter. I'm over 14 months already. I haven't received my original documents yet since I sent them 2 months ago because of they asked for updated docs. I hope to get an answer soon and I will update.

Hi lucidj,
In the last letter where they were asking to send original documents again it was said that it is the last correspondence from them. They will return original documents only with official reply.

Hi lucidj, please has there been any acknowledgement from the department of justice since you got involved with a solicitor.i read online that the solicitor has a right to demand for a judgement on application once the application has gone beyond 12 months

Hi guys. I have good news. Yesterday 25 of September I got a positive reply to grant me permission to remain Stamp 4 on the basis of marriage to Irish citizen. I applied on 21 May 2017, so I was waiting for 16 months. Now a small advise to all of you waiting - go to your local TD and book an appointment. They can help you speed up the process.

Marks2017 , go and book an appointment now. I booked an appointment while waiting for 14 months and I regret it as I could do it earlier. Rauli, before applying I was asylum seeker.
