I will be applying from a Tier 2 (General) visa to ILR (5 years) this November. I just would like to ask help regarding my application form. Questions are listed below. Help would be very much appreciated.
1.) Select a category in which you are applying for indefinite leave to remain - I selected Tier 2 migrant and Tier 2 General as follow up answer for the first one. Did I choose the right answer? Yes.
2.) When did you first enter the UK? - I used the start date on my first Tier 2 visa which is 2013. However I first entered the UK as a student visa on 2010. I was thinking that my visa as student would not be counted on the 5 years continuous stay anyway. Have I done this correctly? Still choose the date of entry as student
3.) Have you previously lived in a country outside the UK including your country of birth? - I answered NO as my friends who recently applied said they put NO because the question should be referring to the 5 years of staying in the UK with a Tier 2 general visa. However I am not British born and arrive here on 2010 only. Is that correct? No. You should state the your country of origin at least, if you never lived in the other country.
4.) I will be submiting one travel document (plus my old passports) for the application. - I use the travel document when I went back home to my own country because my new passport did not arrive in time upon application. Do I need to write a cover letter explaining why I have a travel document instead of just normal passports? I think you need to do so.
5.) Is sending a P60 for 5 years compulsary? I only have 4 years worth as I cannot find one of them (oldest year). No. You should just only require 3 months payslip before the date of application.
Im sorry for the long post. I hope someone can help me answer theses questions. Many thanks

if you read the complete question you will find out that it was refering to the start date of your first Tier 2 visa because your ILR is based on Tier 2. There is another question where you are asked how long you have stayed in the UK, thats where you include your stay as a student till date

it is possible that the online questions are different. If the question is just "when did you first enter the UK?", then it will be when you first entered the UK as a student.mark101 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 08, 2018 11:00 pmHello,
Thank you for replying.
