Traffic Offence in Germany

Post by Mohan Singh » Thu Oct 18, 2018 2:29 pm

Good afternoon Members,

I am due for British citizenship and would like to know if the traffic offence in 2017 (Over speeding and parking) under my name in Germany can affect my citizenship application.

Thanks in advance for looking into this.
Your input would be very valuable in this direction.

Many Thanks,
Mohan

Thank you cambs68 for the reply.
On naturalization form, they have asked if I have any offence in or outside the UK

It is very difficult to get in touch with German Authorities as there is a language barrier.

What should be my next step in this direction?

Many Thank

Just explain what the traffic offence was, date and details. As such it should not affect your application, unless you are a serial offender not paying the fines. I would agree it's questionable if they would investigate a foreign traffic offence but then we don't know what and how they check things.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.

Good evening Alterhase,

Thanks for looking into this.
Offence happened last year, September 2017.
I was overspeeding for 10km extra, I should be driving at 30km per hour.
After reading policy guidelines, it does not explain how they collect information n process it.

Many Thanks

Dont worry.

If there is no cautions or points in your name here in the UK , I don't think that should cause a problem...

Just be relaxed and chill

As long as you meet the requirements and other stuff , you will be absolutely fine. Just go ahead and get it completed asap

Best of luck
