Does anyone know what my chances are to not consenting to the father of my child's Leave to Remain Visa extension?

Post by Foa » Sun Oct 21, 2018 3:03 am

Good morning all,

I'm new to this forum so please be tolerant with me.
So! I have a child for a man that I resently found out that he had married a woman for immigration purposes but was refused. When I gave birth to my son he explained his immigration status to me and I agreed to assist as I saw nothing wrong with doing so. We went to register my son's birth together, did the DNA etc...and gave him the consent letter.
We had a misunderstanding along the way and we did not see or speak for nearly 4 months. Later I found out he was granted the Leave to Remain but he told me that he was refused. It became a family matter and we settled the issues between us. Till date he has never apologised for lying to me that his application was refused nor has he told me the number of months given to him or discussed anything to do with his Leave to Remain application with me (never got a thank you either). I became alarmed when I realised that the funds he started giving me towards our son is referenced with *xxxxxxxupkeep* and he is constantly trying to ask me for pictures of our son etc....
During arguments he says things such as 'you are behaving this way because you know that I'm still coming back to you to renew my visa initially I was confused and started doing my own research before it all became clearer.
Like I said, I also resently found out he married aomeone previously for spousal visa but was refused.
He also mentioned to a mutual friend that he will return the Leave to Remain Visa to me and go get someone else to have another child for him so that he can start a new application.
Things are no longer good between us as I realise that he is not a good man plus he has no genuine interest in our child, he just sees him to fulfil his visa requirements.
In case he comes back to me when the current visa expires, can I refuse him and is there a way he can go about it and get it without me knowing?

Thank you

Fran

Hey hun.. so sorry this happened to you. I can sympathise cos am in a similar situation except I had been in a relationship for years with this man, but found out his true colours during this period of visas.

Anyway I have no factual input really tbh except that I think he needs certain documents to actually put in an application. For instance; birth certificate, court order that he has contact with your child or perhaps letters from schools/go/nursery and yes photos. Also maybe phone records to prove contact. Not sure how else contact can be proven without these documents as proof.

Sorry if not much help but that’s what I think.

Do you not want the father of your child to be in contact with his son, what is your exact intention - are you looking to cancel his visa due to deception?
