5th Visa (Tourist visa)

• I left the UK on 25/08/2014 before the 4th Visa expired .
• I stayed in Japan for 135 days and applied for the 6th visa within Japan.
• I came back to the UK on 08/01/2015 within 180 days.
6th Visa (PhD study, Liverpool John Moores University)
Date of issue: 26/12/2014
Date of expiry: 25/05/2019
• I met 10 years lawful residence requirements on 03/07/2018.
What I m not sure is, during my 4th visa and my 5th visa. did I break the continues residency because I didn't apply for a fresh visa within 28 days? Also does tourist visa count towards 10 years?
Thank you very much for your help !!
