Marriage broken down

Post by Gizzywizzy » Thu Oct 25, 2018 10:15 am

Hi all,

Just a question about the divorce process, got married in Pakistan in March 2017 and applied for visa end of that year, she was granted her visa and came to the UK but didn't stay at my property, the marriage broke down and she has left the family home saying to the police she can't live here.

With regards to divorce proceedings is it just the nikah that needs to be dissolved or would I put a civil divorce in? To my knowledge it isn't recorded that way?

Kind regards

Sultan

Sorry to hear your situation...

Why don't you contact the Home Office and advise them the marriage has broken down so they cancel her spouse visa.

They will revoke her spouse visa and BRP and any rights she has within the UK.

This is far too much the case these days from abroad!

Call & Email Home Office
provide them with the details (name, visa number, brp number, etc)
Let them know marriage has broken down

They will take further action

You are required to advise the Home Office that your relationship is no longer subsisting, but not by telephone. Only information submitted on the official form will be considered. See below:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... nsent-form

However, whether your wife will be required to leave the UK depends on the circumstances of the separation and you may not be advised of the Home Office's decision.
