Hello all,
My case is a very confusing one.
I was born In South africa and left when I was 6 (my mother and I were on ancestral visas but our passports were stollen so we lost our visas and were nearly removed but got put onto ILR) so have lived in the UK for a very long time on ILR ( lived in Australia for 1 year and six months) but grew up in the UK and went through primary and high school here. Then once I finished secondary I lived in Australia for another 5 years not realising that my ILR would expire ! I stupidly didn't even know or check I just assumed that because I was a permanent resident I could just come home ! (Apparently not! ) so after a very grueling attempted trip back HOME i got stopped in dubai and was told I could not board the plane to the uk ( and btw i have a full on UK accent as i grew up here !) Anyone would not even batter an eye lid if I said I was born here! ...
Anyway I went back to Aus and applied for a family visa and got back To the UK and then attempted to apply for a ILR with no avail as we just didn't have the money! So the application kept getting sent back.
In that time my partner (who is a British citizen) and I had a baby Who is now also a British Citizen. Just Before just she was born we Eventually we got the money... ( thousands ! ) and now 3 years since arriving and going through all the anxiety, stress, having a child and not being able to do anything !
As well as having to attend the police station every month to sign on !! ( I felt like a criminal !! ) I Was granted LLR ( Limited leave to remain on a ten year route for 30 months ?!?!) What does that even mean and when can I become a citizen ? And am I allowed to marry my fiance ? Please help me understand what I have to do next to live a normal life
My grandparents are british citizens (Both past away unfortunately). My great grandparents were born in the UK
My fiance and daughter are British citizens!
My mother is here on ILR and my half Brother is a British citizen !
Thanks in advance for reading my essay ! (Sorry if I wobble on too much)
I'm just so over feeling like i'm living in limbo!
Kind regards!
