ILR English requirement

My wife is due to apply for her ILR visa (5year route) and since she did her education outside UK we have a statement of comparability from NARIC but no ELA ( English language assessment) from NAIRC as it was mentioned in home office website so can anyone tell me if it’s compulsory or not as she has a letter from her University confirming that they taught course was English

Your wife needs a NARIC ELA (red route).
(Casa, not CR001)
