Apndx FM section 1.21 4.4 Applicants who provided evidence of an acceptable academic qualification with a previous app

Post by jenik » Fri Nov 02, 2018 12:09 pm

Hi all,

For FLR(M) I noticed this in an appendix for the guidance notes:
4.4. Applicants who provided evidence of an acceptable academic qualification with a previous application
A partner or parent applying for leave to enter or remain who has an academic qualification which was accepted as part of a successful previous application as a partner or parent is not required to provide further evidence of that academic qualification.
What does this mean?

In our case, for the initial 2.5yr period higher ed diplomas were provided and accepted. Could 4.4 be construed as saying it excuses a person applying for an extension who provided adequate qualifications in the entry period from proving equivalency through Naric and all that? My wife submitted her masters and PhD from a top US university, and this was accepted last time.

I know it's a long shot, could we just submit the diplomas as last time, without Naric, owing to 4.4?

There's now too little time left to dig up transcripts and go through Naric so we will take the selts instead. My wife got a few giggles from the thought of being published in international academic journals and being tested at the A2 english level, so at least we get a little levity during this awful, stressful application process.

Thanks for any thoughts on this.
