Letter from former employer

Post by pm107 » Sun Nov 04, 2018 3:08 pm

I am on a Tier 2 General visa, applying for ILR towards the end of this month.
Is it mandatory to obtain a letter from my former employer stating my period of work and absences from the UK? Please note, I had no absences from the UK when I was employed by my previous employer.

I plan to provide P60s as further evidence of my stay and work in the UK.
My current employer did not factor my P45 for the first year. Therefore, it seems to provide an impression as though there was a large gap between my two jobs although in reality, I had a break of just 1.5 months between the two jobs.

I do plan to submit my P45 and payslips from my previous employer so it proves I was employed through the year of my job change. Would that be ok?

If you did not travel out of the UK, no need to provide a letter.
