Hi all, I have been using this site for a while for information but (unfortunately) now have my own story.
I am a south African married to a Spanish citizen, with Spanish residency. Applied for an EEA permit as we are moving to the UK so that she may start a new job. Friday I got my refusal letter, on the grounds that I didn't give proof that my wife is of Spanish nationality, ...despite the application containing a clear copy of her Spanish ID which clearly states that fact, as well as a Spanish marriage certificate which additionally states that fact, as well as my residency card which clearly states that fact.
Quite obviously, the lack of ability to hold someone accountable is frustrating as all hell. Am i right in believing that while I can appeal, it's just quicker to reapply, even though the refusal is purely down to an official not doing their job at all?
