Regarding the UK Tier 2 (General) Visa documents for Indian Citizen

Post by Rafiqsm » Mon Nov 05, 2018 2:40 pm

Sir,
I am Indian and I have been selected for a Postdoc position in a University (UK). I am about to apply for Tier 2 (General) visa. I am not sure about the documents required in the support of this.
I have
1. Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS ref number)
2. Offer letter from the sponsor
3. TB test certificate
4. Passport
5. B.Sc, M.Sc. and Ph.D degree certificate and UK NARIC Certificate

Is there any other document required for the application? Further, in the application form, there is a question "where do you stay in the UK? or Plan of stay. So, I am not sure what to write for this. Please kindly help me.

Hi,

Recently I had Tier 2 General Visa appointment. I am still waiting for the result (fingers crossed).
I carried below mentioned documents with me:
1. Visa Application
2. Visa Application Payment Confirmation
3. IHS Payment Confirmation
4. Passport
5. TB Test Report
6. CoS document (It also mentioned my employer/sponsor would be taking care of Maintenance Charges)
7. UK NARIC English Assessment
8. University Degree Certificates + Academic Transcript

If your CoS doesn't specify about Maintenance Charges will be bourn by employer/sponsor, you must carry bank statement having the said amount for at least 3 months, else you don't need to carry any bank statements.

Apart from the above I don't think any other documents are required.

For the question where do you stay/plan to stay?
I mentioned my employer's address, as it's kind of impossible to book the flights/hotels/rented house in advance without even having visa approved.

Hope it helps. All the best for your visa appointment.
