tier 4 to tier 1 conversion

Hello,
currently, I am on tier 4 visa and not completing my degree this year. My Visa will expire in Jan 2019. I am now in the middle of a business idea proposal and hence looking towards conversion into tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa.

My queries:
1) Is this switch possible even though I'm not completing my degree this year?
2) In Entrepreneur category, I see there are two routes, 50k and 200k, which category am I eligible to apply?

Yes only under Tier 1 Entrepreneur route and you will not be able to use the Graduate Entrepreneur visa route

You need at least 50K and that must only come from either:

• a UK entrepreneurial seed funding competition endorsed by DIT
• a UK government department making funds available for the purpose of setting up or expanding a UK business

Many thanks for the quick reply.

Now it clarifies many things. One final question, in your recommendation, would you not recommend the 200K route?

PS: I might struggle to meet the financial conditions eligibility - aka to source money from the three routes as suggested in the requirements (seed funding, govt fund, etc etc)

There is no such thing as 200K route. There is a minimum requirement of funds to be eligible for a visa under Tier 1E.
For Tier 4 students that is lowered to 50K as long as they money comes from those two sources only. There is no other way to switch from Tier 4 in the UK. If you want to use your OWN money, then the minimum requirement funds to be eligible for a visa is at least 200K and you CANNOT switch in the UK from Tier 4. You must leave the UK and apply from home country.
