Next step to residence card

Post by Brownsheep » Fri Nov 09, 2018 3:41 pm

Hi guys!
Hope you all doing great. A little intro; I am not working atm but my husband is acting his treaty rights, not claiming any benefits.

I have query regarding my PR that where I am standing at the moment and what should I expect after the brexit.

1: My PR will be expiring in mid of 2021 (issued in 2016) so when do I need to apply for my PRC.

2:When am I able to apply for British nationality (after 10 years of living in the Uk)??

3:Am I able to get the British nationality as my child is born in Uk but he holds European nationality not British.

4:What is the best fastest route for me to get the british nationality ?

I shall be grateful to you all
TIA

2:When am I able to apply for British nationality (after 10 years of living in the Uk)?? After holding PR Card for a year after the five years required for PR.

3:Am I able to get the British nationality as my child is born in Uk but he holds European nationality not British. No.

4:What is the best fastest route for me to get the british nationality ? There is only one route: application AN and you need to satisfy all requirements

I shall be grateful to you all
TIA

You can apply for British citizenship one year after acquiring PR. So, the earliest that you can apply for British citizenship is 2022 (assuming that your EEA citizen spouse continues to exercise treaty rights in the UK till 2021 or acquires PR themselves before that date).

It also depends on your previous immigration history in the UK. You should not have been illegally for at least 10 years before the date of your naturalisation/citizenship application. So, before you married the EEA citizen spouse, did you reside in the UK and if so, what was your UK immigration history?

Form AN is the application form to apply for British citizenship via naturalisation. Click on the link and read through Guide AN and Booklet AN to understand the current requirements for naturalisation.
