Think we have messed up applying for uk tourist visa from Kenya!

Post by Eastlondongirl » Fri Nov 09, 2018 6:29 pm

Hey all im a Brit living in London and my boyfriend lives in Kenya. He went to the TLs contact Centre today as we are applying for a tourist visa and I’m sponsoring the visit. We submitted docs showing his house owned outright so has ties to go back, letter from my employer confirming salary and last three month slips plus sponsor letter which was strong explaining background of 4 year relationship blah blah but I didn’t include bank statements (wasn’t keen for some stranger in a document Centre in Kenya to have them) or my rental agreement. Is this a big f&&k up?? Do you think there is any chance a nice person will call me to make sure I exist and I can submit them then or is there any chance that it will be the nail in the coffin and we will have to apply again?
Also seen lots of posts about wording saying if you get an email saying application is resolved, you have been granted it, is this still right??? Eugh we really don’t want to spend more money and I wish I had read more about being a sponsor but thought had it all covered!

Should have said we are planning for me to go and live in Kenya which we declared as he has elderly parents. We met when we both lived in dubai. Have asked landlady to write a letter saying she is ok with him staying but am kicking myself that should have submitted that first with rental agreement. I also own a property here in another part of the uk. God all we want is a month holiday for him to meet my family who know and love him already through FaceTime and Skype!!!!

Did you submit evidence of his parent's dependence? Although I believe you have made an error in not submitting your bank statements and proof of available accommodation, most importantly the Case Worker will want to see evidence of your boyfriend's ties to his home country and his financial self-sufficiency.

Is he currently employed? Property ownership on its own is unlikely to be sufficient, as this can be sold or rented to tenants.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

Hi there no we didn’t. They are old and how do we do that? He has just started his own real estate business....
