Absence from UK for PR and citizenship

Post by TomN5 » Mon Nov 12, 2018 12:17 pm

Dear all,

I could really use some help!
I'm an EU citizen being UK taxpayer since 2011 and Sole Trader since 2014.
For the last 4 years I have been working abroad (still paying taxes in the UK though).

I am now applying for PR but I fear that all these absences in the last years will affect my application.

Any suggestion?!

Thank you very much in advance

Any period of absence of 6 months or more in rolling 12 month period, breaks continuity for PR. If you return to the UK your 5 year qualifying period will start from zero as you are unable to carry forward time previously spent in the UK.
