As per your husband, you already have a dependent visa

Not commenting on what the fact is in your case, the following should be noted for dependent application from India:-
1. The sponsor must show a min. balance of GBP 1600 for each dependent for min. 3 months in his account. In simple words, the bank balance should not be less than 1600 quids even for a day during the 3 month period. If there are 2 dependents who wish to apply, then the min. balance should be 3200 and so on.
2. Whether the sponsor is in UK or in India, the 3 month requirment is mandatory if the dependents have yet to apply for EC from India. Had the sponsor been in UK for more than 12 months, then this min. amount would have come down to 533 quids per dependent instead of 1600 quids. Rest of the conditions are not influenced because of the sponsor's stay in UK.

My husband is already working in UK for tha past 3 months under valid HSMP visa.
Myself and my 1 year daughter wanted to apply for dependant visa.
I called VFS and asked them for the required documents to be submitted, the vfs person told me that as part of the new rule they want me to show 15 months bank statement and in that I should be having 1600 pounds as maintenance funds for the past 3 months.
I am not sure why dependent needs to have maintenance funds. It should be the maintenance funds which my husband should be showing for us right...??
Is this the correct rule...Please let me know
