Naturalization and Citizenship Time outside UK

Post by khan81047 » Wed Jan 09, 2019 3:32 pm

Hi there
Could you please help me out with some expert advise as usual.

I was granted ILR in Jan 2018 on 10 year basis. And recently I traveled out of UK in September and came back in December, I was outside for 94 days as father was very ill and sadly passed way. Before this I last traveled outside UK in June 2011.
I have read guidance that you should not be outside the UK for more than 90 days in last 12 months. Worried that I need to wait 12 more months before I apply for Naturalization.

1. Is there any option for me apart from waiting 12 months
2. if I can apply now, please advise how this can be done
3. I have 2 CCJ's both issued in 2016, one of them I have completely paid and the other I'm disputing the amount and not paid anything as of yet. Will this affect my application?
4. My child is British citizen as I have now naturalized him after getting ILR, will this help in my application?

If your total absences in the year immediately preceding the date of application is less than 100, you can ask for discretion. Include proof of your father's illness and passing away and request discretion on that basis.

Irrelevant. It neither helps nor hurts.

I'll leave the CCJ judgment questions for somebody more informed in this than me.
