Extending Spouse Settlement Visa Question (Lacking Correspondence)

Post by lukemasel » Wed Jan 16, 2019 3:59 pm

Hi there helpful people

My wife and I are currently in the process of collecting the required documentation for her visa extension application.

I'm self employed and do my own accounting so have to sort our some additional documentation there, but it's nothing too difficult to get hold of.

The problem we're having is to do with acquiring the necessary correspondence to prove we've been living together for the last 2.5 years. For the first 2 years of her time here, we were both living with my parents. They were very generous to us and didn't demand any contributions towards the household bills so basically we have very little to show in terms of correspondence during this time. No doctors appointments, and we use GiffGaff so that's all online, as was the banking.
In August we moved to our own place in Bristol and updated all our personal accounts and details (bank/drivers licenses/etc.). It seems they all delete their historic information about you when you update them. We're in a bit of a pickle!
She was working through most of this period so she has her P60s and payslips (no address), and we can probably get a signed document from her employer that she was there throughout that time and her registered address stayed the same. Obviously we'll be able to get a signed letter from the parents also. It doesn't seem enough though, really?
If we'd known about this requirement since her arrival, of course we would have collected every little thing, but you're never told. I'm not sure how we could be expected to have these materials...

Has anyone here had a similar experience to this, or could anyone advise?

Thanks
