ILR - days in the country

Hello

My husband (who is British) is sponsoring me. We are at the end of the 5 year visa route in June.
He is on a contract for work - where he will be working in Belgium for 7 months. He will be back and forth between the UK- but primarily in Brussels.

I would like to go with him rather than remain alone here with our daughter. Can I?
I know that I will need to return prior to my appointment for ILR ... but how long can I stay out of the UK with him?
