Denied employment because ILR not on current passport

Hi there
I was thing to find out some information about how this Brp works as I can't get no answers from home office. Recently I have applied for a job but I was denied employment because Ilr was not on my current passport. I have been in uk for the last 15 years and is the fist time I had to deal with such thing. After going to the home office in person I was told that it has been replaced by brp. I have managed to give my biometrics and I was wondering if I have to wait for the actual brp card since is just matter of transferring my old status

AFAIK, a few years ago the law changed and you now need to have a actual BRP card for right of work purpose. Vignettes or stamps in passports are no longer available and will not be accepted as proof.
