Dependant Visa for a child born in UK

Post by pranamcs » Sat Mar 16, 2019 6:16 pm

Hello Experts

I have a Tier2 General Visa. My kid was born in Nov 2018. I want to add him as a dependant so that I can get a visa and BRP for him. This will help me travel with him outside the UK.

I am applying using this link - https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/family-members which then took me to https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... dant-child . My kid obviously cant fill the form so I am filling the form.

In the form there is a section that asks about passport information. My kid does not have a passport. I have applied for it. Should I still go ahead and fill the pbs-dependant form or wait for the passport ?

In another section it asks for documents. I am willing to share my bank statements. Is that sufficient ?

Does a 3 or 4 month old baby also need to go to an office to provide biometric fingerprint ?

I plan to travel to Spain during last week of May 2019. Should I take the priority service for the visa process ?

Regards
Pranam

You can apply for dependent visa for your kid without passport.

At the end of application, it will clearly indicate what documentation you need to provide (child birth certificate, bank statement, etc.)

Regarding biometric, I think it will just be photo.

It generally takes 8 weeks or more, so if you're definitely need to travel then yeah priority service may be an option, but if it's not urgent to travel then standard service is your economical option.
My advice is based on personal research/experience, so pls check relevant UKVI sources.
