Pre-settled status and bio-metrics (advice needed)

Post by splinter » Thu Apr 04, 2019 11:52 pm

Hello to all members

I've been granted with a family permit visa ( usually valid for 6 months). After arriving in the UK I have applied for a pre-settled status (I would like to clear my Wife is from EU and already been granted pre-settled status in the UK).

UKVI accepted my application which I have filled online and provided me with an application number and asked me to enrol my biometrics. I have paid 60GBP online for biometrics.

When I turned up for my bio-metrics enrolment they said we can't enrol your biometrics because you have applied for a BRP Replacement and in order to enrol us your biometric you need to present your current BRP card.

In the end, they said you need to change your appointment by calling to our premium helpline (which is 2.50GBP per min) I have called on that helpline many times but no one is picking up. I have also emailed them but they are not replying (their general replying time is 5-10 working days).

I have also spoken with UKVI regarding this and they said from our end everything is fine and they should enrol your biometrics. UKVI has also tried to speak with them but they are not picking up phone.

Please advice me what shall I do?

your family permit is on the card? does it say residence card on it? if you have one then while applying for EU settlement scheme you must've proved your identity using passport because if you have your residence card than you should use your prove your identity using BRP card number than it won't ask you to do biometric again.

My family permit is not on the card. It is on my passport. Its basically a visa sticker which they have posted on my passport also I have mentioned my passport as main ID document. Moreover its doesn't say residence card.
I would like to clear I have only my passport where they have post a visa of 6 months (family permit). I haven't got any BRP. Thanks

Great Thank you very much for your help. I have already tried calling on this number today and I had to hang up after 30 minutes of wait.
