Old BRP returned after visa application

Hi guys,

I made a Tier 2 visa application (from Tier 4 DES), it's been 4-5 weeks now and I my supporting documents back including my passport and current BRP. I am worried because I thought they would keep the current BRP and send the new one later when the visa is granted.
Is this the process?
