Requirements for EEA2 after EEA

Post by Daze1987 » Thu May 23, 2019 2:20 pm

I’m British and my non Eu partner and I have lived in Ireland for 3 years with our son, we applied for the EEA family permit and received it today. As you know the permit it for 6 Months and we would need to apply for EEA2 within 3 Months of arriving in Uk. My question is about me the Uk citizen being “qualified” in order to successfully apply for the eea2. It says that to qualify you can be a worker or a job seeker . How do you prove your a job seeker ? At the moment I don’t work I stay and look after our son full time and would intent to do so in Uk while job seeking ...if I am not in emolument while making the eeu2 Application is that a deal breaker?
Also to confirm please can a person work immediately on a Eea family permit valid for 6 Months ?
Thank you

Hi Daze1987.
How are you planning to sustain yourselves?
You can be a job seeker. Or, if your partner will be the one working, he/she can be the source of income to consider yourself self sufficient, which would also make you a qualified person.
The non EEA national can work on a Family Permit.

Regards,
Joaquín
