New born passport - India and Nepal parent

I am on Tier 2 ICT long term visa. I hold a India passport and my wife hold Nepal passport. I am expecting baby to born in UK, I am currently confused on the procedures of applying passport for the new born.

1. Could I get advice on this, can I apply for Indian passport for new born and is there any legal issues ?
2. What are the procedures to apply birth certificate and passport ?
