SET(O) Co-habitation documents time frame?

Post by SimH3ZA » Sun Jul 14, 2019 9:35 pm

Hi all,

I am the unmarried dependent of an ancestry visa holder. We arrived in UK Jan 2016. Looking ahead to what's required for ILR, I came across the following statement in the application:

"If you have a spouse or civil partner listed in section 2 of this application form who is applying
at the same time as you, please provide documentary evidence of cohabitation since you
were last granted leave (up to a maximum of two years). Evidence provided should cover the
whole period and be in the form of official letters or documents, addressed to yourself and
your spouse"

I know there is a variety of threads about what actual evidence to provide, I am aware of the docs and have these covered, but my question is to do with the qualifying period that these documents need to cover. I know this may seem simple, but I am just wanting to be crystal clear on this... Is it for 2 years working backwards from the date of ILR application (c.Dec 2020) or is it for 2 years from the point at which we entered the UK (Jan 2016)?

Many thanks in advance

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
