PR Application Sect 16 Social Benefits

Is it necessary to provide info on social benefits received for the relevant 5 year UK residence period only or does the applicant have to go back in time?
I have lived and worked in the UK since mid 70s and received child benefit for 4 children from 1978-2009. As my pr application is based on last 5 yrs, I wonder whether earlier payments are at all relevant.
Clarification would be much appreciated!
