HSMP/Tier 1 extension; time outside U.K

Hi, two questions;
1. I wanted to clarify if anyone is aware of any restrictions as to how long a person can be away (each year) outside U.K (e.g holidays/visiting friends or family) when they are on HSMP/Tier 1.
2. Are there any travel restrictions time periods (time outside U.K in an year) that we need to be aware of or adhered to when applying for ILR after being on HSMP/Tier-1?

For extension - no restriction.
For ILR / citizenship - yes. (search the forum - details you are looking for are already posted).
