hallo, Im a dutch citizen married to an Jordanian guy with a 1 year old daughter also with a dutch nationality. After I gave birth to my daughter I got sick the doctor told me I have bipolar disorder, he prescribed me medicine which i'm still on.

I left Holland 12 years ago and moved with my parents to U.S.A
now I'm living with my husband and daughter in Jordan for 2 years. I need to go to Holland- the problem is I need to go with my husband to immigrate for him from there, the doc. said it's too dangerous to go alone, I have a certificate from the doc. that says it's better to not go alone. We went to the dutch embassy in Jordan and somebody told us I have to go alone, anyway and register for my husband from Holland. I can't go alone! i'm so afraid that my bipolar gets high or low. Really, I need my hubby to come with me to live and work there. So, what's the solution?

From what I'm reading online, as long as your spouse has the MMV, you two can travel to the Netherlands together. The MMV can be filed by the Duth national in the Netherlands, or by the Jordan national in Jordan. Once you receive the MMV, you can travel to the Netherlands (must happen within 6 months from the date the MMV sticker is issued) and proceed to apply for a temporary residence permit (must happen within 3 days of arrival and is issued for 1 year, which can be extended up to 5 years).

There are other conditions as well. You have to register your marriage in the Netherlands, and your spouse will also have to take the civic integration examination abroad, in Jordan. There are only a few nationalities who are exempt, and Jordan isn't one of them. So, I don't know how good his Dutch is, or if he has any, but he will need it to come to the Netherlands. Since March 2006, this required.

Anyway, here is the Dutch immigration website. You can fill in the info for your situation and read all the details and get the forms with the IND Residency Wizard.

Good luck!
Cheers!

Stephany, you have already been given an answer to your question. Please don't start a new thread with the same question/s.
