tier1 withdraw procedure

tier1 withdraw procedure

Hi my name is kumar currently student in melbourne .i am planing to apply for tier 1(general)by august 18th. my australian visa is valid till end of august and i am extending it till november ending as visitor visa. can i withdraw my application 2 weeks before if my application is still pending before my australia visa expires the reason is i need my passport back to travel india. please any one suggest me some suggestion.

I don't think anyone on the forum will be able to tell you whether you will receive your passport (and documents) back in time if you request for a withdrawal 2 weeks before your intended travel date. Only local BHC will be able to advise you on that.

But yes, you can withdraw your application whenever you want.... and remember that you'll lose the application fees if you withdraw your application.

Here's some food for thought - If you convert your current visa (student) to visitor visa before you apply for Tier 1, then you will not be able to apply for Tier 1 from Australia (Tier 1 application cannot be made from a country where you are present as a visitor). On the other hand, if you apply for Tier 1 now on a student visa, how will you apply for extension as a visitor without your passport (passport will be with BHC because you would have sent it with your Tier 1 application, right??).
