Hi alizzzon, yes, the general idea of the Settlement Scheme is for someone to reside in UK rather than just visit. However, I'm aware that some people were applying for FP (old scheme) for a one-off travel to UK for -say - holidays. I'm not sure why as the amount of paperwork for these visas is horrifying.alizzzon wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 11:36 amHello, I am a European citizen with a pre-settled status living in the UK. As far as I understand, my parents who are Russian citizens can apply for the EU Settlement scheme family permit without any need to prove the dependancy status since dependancy is now assumed according to the new regulations now. However, my question is, if they do get the family permit and come to the UK, stay here for a while and then go back to Russia, after the permit expires can they re-aply to get a new one once again? At the moment they do not have any intention to live in the UK, however would like to be able to visit me anytime., therefore I've been thinking of applying for the EU settlement scheme family permit or is it only for those relatives who want to relocate? Thank you very much for your help!
Why is that? UK usually issues minimum 6 months visa with multiple entries. After the first 6 months visa, one can apply for 1, 2 or even more years' visas. If they get the tourist or visitor visa, there is a limited number of times they can enter the UK
