MN1 Biometric enrollment for infant

Post by ukvisat2 » Wed Nov 20, 2019 5:08 pm

A quick question is related to my son's registration as a British Citizen. He will be 2 years old next month. Do I need to enrol his biometric for MN1?

I submitted my application online on 15/11/2019. The earliest appointment I found was on 20/12/2019.
I found on this forum that some people have not enrolled biometrics for a 2.5-year kid.

Just wanted to confirm if there are any exceptions for the kids?

Eligibility criteria: One of the parents received ILR(10 year Long Residency route)
Applicant: Non-EU, but born in the UK

Application Timeline
Method of application: Online- 09 Aug 2019
Date of the debit of fees: 10 Aug 2019
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 12 Aug 2019
Date of biometric enrollment: Not required for children of 2.5 years
Date of receipt of approval: 26 September 2019
Date of receipt of registration certificate: 28 September 2019

Roughly took 7 weeks altogether for the whole process to be completed.

All the best wishes for the people who are going through the same anxious waiting periods.

You need to enrol your child for bio-metric at https://www.ukvcas.co.uk/locations
Finger prints would not be taken but digital photograph of the child will be taken.

Once you have completed your MN1 form , the application would advise you to register at ukvcas.

Finger prints would be taken for children above 6 years ( end of Page No 12 and Start of Page No 13)
