WP to Tier 1...queries about LTR and dependant

WP to Tier 1...queries about LTR and dependant

Hi,
I am planning to switch to tier 1 from WP. My wife is here with me in UK under dependant visa. I am submitting the dependant application form along with my switching application.

> Does my wife need to leave UK for getting EC or can she get a LTR from within UK.

This might be a dumb question but apologies as I couldn't find the right discussion when I searched...

> When I apply for switching, will I be given LTR or do I need to apply it separately.

1. Since your wife has current leave to enter / remain as a dependent of a WP holder, she can switch to Tier 1 dependent from within the UK. See Switching in to the dependent route
2. Tier 1 is a single step process (approval + EC/FLR).
