Query Regarding 10 year Limited Leave to Remain

One of my friend, has Limited leave to remain as a partner and on his decision letter is is written you can apply for ILR after 10 years.

He just wan to know, can he apply for FLR(M) and apply for ILR after 5 years. Family income is more than £20K. It will save 1 extension and NHS fee as well.

or he need to go for 3 more extensions as Limited leave to remain. and then ILR.

As long as he's meeting all requirements there is no issue

Pass English test
Marriage cert
Cohabitation docs
Finance

Plus any info on kids or circumstances which need to be put in application helps

He does not has marriage certificate ,but he is living with the person since 2007 and has 3 children. All birth certificate has his name mule a father. They never register their marriage.
Is this ok for relation ship. He also has the limited leave to remain with the same partner on 10 year route.

Other requirement is all ok.
