ILR -- 5 Years Spouse Route (Date of Application Submission or Date of Appointment0

Dear All,

I am applying ILR on 5 Years spouse route, my current Leave to remain expires on 29/12/2019 I have completed the online form but have no submitted it yet, As i am not sure what will the date of application ? will it the date i submit my application online ? or it will an date when i attend the priority appointment ? as i am planning to submit my application on 23rd December and then will take the first available priority appointment?

Now here is another problem my current visa expires on 29/12 /2019 what if i dont get an online appointment before 29/12/2019 ? will that be a problem so as i mention above if i have submitted my application online on 23/12/2019 will that be consider as the date of submission of application? because they are very slim chances that i will get the appointment before my visa expiry date and i cannot submitted application before 23/12/2019 because i am applying on Cash Saving and the requirement to keep the money in account for 6 months prior to application will be completed on the 23/12/2019.

any advice on this will be highly appreciated as this is super stressing situation for me.

If you apply in-time, you will be protected under section 3C meaning that your visa will be extended automatically after expiry date until you get a decision

Dear Zimba,

Many thanks for the prompt reply and explanation so as long as i submit my application online and it doesnt matter what date i got the appointment after (ofcourse i will go for first available date) I will be protected by Section 3C.
