Retired Parents - UK Visitor Visa from Pakistan

Post by Junaidrai » Mon Dec 23, 2019 9:46 am

Hello All,

I did get ILR almost 10 months ago, now planning to invite my parents for a visit.

Part of the application is to show the intention to go back or to show strong ties to Pakistan.

My question is mainly, as they are living a retired life, so what documents we do need to produce to fulfill this requirement.

Your guidance is highly appreciated.

Thank you

Regards,
JR

Proof of their financial self-sufficiency in Pakistan together with evidence of stronger ties to their home country than they might be considered to have with you in the UK. The ECO needs to be convinced that there is no risk of them overstaying their visit.

How long are they intending to stay with you?

Hi Casa,

thanks for replying.

Intended duration of the stay is 6 months.

Can you please enlist the documents you think can serve the purpose. I do understand the fact, we need to prove that they have strong ties to Pakistan and will go back before the expiry of Visit Visa.

E.g. if they were employed in Pakistan, a letter from employer confirming the Job would have served the purpose of having strong ties. But they are living retired life at the moment, so I am confused about the documents needed in this scenario.

Plus, I am sending them the funds every month for living, they don't have any other source of income.

Please advise.

Thank you

Regards,
JR

Difficult.
I appreciate that, but I guess some people might have incurred the same issue.

Sponsoring your parents at this age looks quite common but this is the first time I am doing it, that is why there is much confusion.

Did you click on Vinny's link? The fact that you are providing your parents' only source of income weakens the application considerably. Do they have other family in Pakistan and/or own property there?

If this is your parents first application for a visitor visa, requesting a stay of the maximum 6 months may be considered too long. A few weeks may stand more chance of the visa being granted.
