Question about wife of British national

Post by parvus1202 » Mon Aug 04, 2008 2:29 pm

Alright here is the question, me and my husband are ILR holder, he applied for naturalization first as he was here 5 years + one year ILR holder, if succesful, can I apply as a spouse of British national and not as five year residence and one year ILR holder? I will be here 3 years this 8th of Nov. Can the situation change?

Hello

As soon as your husband's application is successful and he has his naturalisation certificate with him, you can apply as a spouse of a British citizen provided you meet the residence criteria. Though I would advise you wait till your husband has his British passport before you apply (though not necessary).

Best of luck

Thank you for the reply and confirmation. I had my ILR a year now. I had it together with my husband. But he is the first to qualify for naturalization as he is already 6 years in the UK.
