A8 national and settlement

Hi

When can an A8 national (from Czech Republic) apply for settlement under EU law? I was granted a Residence card in March 2006 (valid for 5 yrs) on the basis of working in the UK. I started work in Jan 2005 and received the WRS card in MArch 2005 (I applied within the 1 month limit). I'm still employed. Between 01 May 2004 and Jan 2005, I was a student/ self-sufficient person.

So when would I be able to apply for permanent residence at the earliest?
