Sick leave for 3 months under tier 2 during gp training

Hi. My gp has given me a sick leave for 3 months. Does anybody know what happens with 3 months’ leave under tier2? I am a gp trainee. I feel burnt out. I need this time.He said you can return to work earlier if your employer agrees. My employer may not agree to that at all. Please could someone inform me?
