Tier 2 General - required assistance please

Post by ukenthusiast2020 » Mon Jun 01, 2020 12:35 am

Hi All,

I am currently working as a software engineer in India for the past 16 years. Now I got an opportunity in UK and my future employer is ready to sponsor me with a Tier 2 General visa.

But, I haven't completed my Degree during my college days and I discontinued after 2nd year due to family issues.

Now, without degree, am I eligible for Tier 2 General visa ?
I read the Tier 2 general eligibility in the gov.uk website and understood that, having a proof for my English language ability with a test like IELTS is enough for knowledge in English requirement and I don't need a degree certificate. Is my understanding correct ?

Thank you for your help in advance,

Hello

Here are the eligibility criteria:

There is no need to have a university degree or anything. That's would be between you and your employer in case the employer cares (usually in the UK, they don't).

Still, you need to demonstrate English skills.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I got the positive impression from that document on gov.uk website but I like to know if such thing had happened before and any one who was in similar situation got the tier 2 visa?

My employer is fully aware of the situation and is willing to proceed forward but I am a bit sceptical and if some one who was in similar state before can share their experience please.

Thank you in advance.
