ILR and police warning (Scotland)

Post by jcpren » Tue Jun 16, 2020 6:05 pm

Hello,

A friend of mine is a refugee, with 5 year status expiring at the end of December, and he intends to apply for ILR.

He was seen by police today with an open can of beer in the city centre, where it is an offence. They have issued him with a printed warning as an alternative to prosecution.

It sounds like one of these: https://www.askthe.scottish.police.uk/content/Q927.htm
though the policeman said it would expire after 6 months (just before his refugee status expires) rather than the 2 years mentioned on that site.

He is worried now that it could affect his ILR - does a warning of this type need to be declared in his application, and is it likely to affect the result?

Many thanks.
