maintenance fund

Post by anuswa » Tue Aug 26, 2008 1:32 pm

Hi,

I am maintaining the required funds in a bank account, however this account is jointly held by me, my wife and my mother. Would that cause a problem.

If yes then please provide a solution to this. I have already received my HSMP approval.

Thanks for your time and help.

Account under primary or joint (with wife) are only acceptable.

If you could some how drop your mother's name from account and get the statements printed later then it should be fine. But you need to check with bank if this can be done.

Otherwise, wait for another 3 months. Now a days Job market is not good, if you can wait then its good time to wait.

So the best way to go about it is to remove my mother's name from the account, and then after three months i apply for EC. please correct me if i am wrong.

No need to wait if bank statement does not show your mothers name after withdrawing her name and printing.

thanks a lot for the help and the information. Just one last question

some one also suggested that i do not get my mother's name removed instead inform the visa officer through the cover letter that my mother held account jointly with me however, she will not withdraw any amount from this account. for that i can even attach an affidavit or any other legal document just to prove that she is not involved in this account in any which way. please advise if this can also work without much risk involved. thanks again for your help and advise.

How can you have a legal document say that your mother isn't involved in "any which way" when her name is right there on the account (and hence any bank statement/s)? As advised earlier its best to remove your mother's name from the account temporarily.
