How long can I stay outside UK on Tier 2 ICT visa

Hello Everyone,

Can someone kindly let me know how long can I stay outside UK on a tier 2 ICT visa. I came to UK in august 2019 and still have two years remaining before it expires. We are expecting our first child in January 2021 and me and my wife would like to travel to India for the remaining part of her pregnancy. We plan to travel to india in October 2020. Since I already work from home my employer does not have any issues with me working from home. I was wondering if I can stay back until our child is born in January 2021 and then return to UK. This would mean I would be outside UK for good 4 months. Can anyone please let me know if this is possible?

Should be OK as long as you return before your visa expiry
