Working during section 3C leave

Post by luke85 » Tue Oct 20, 2020 1:21 pm

My partner is switching from a Tier 4 to FLR M visa and is currently awaiting a decision (application and biometrics submitted 08/09). He graduated in July. His section 3C leave began today and we are wondering whether the the 20 hours per week work limit during term time still applies.

The guidance says that section 3C extends leave on the same conditions as the leave that applied when making an application. We are unclear on whether this is still the case now he's a graduate no longer bound by term times. Is anyone able to offer some clarity on this?

If the 20 hours limit does apply, is "term time" stipulated by the dates used by his alma mater?

Thank you

You have the same rights as if your previous visa didn't expire but you can't travel out of the UK.

So if the previous visa allowed 20 hours, you can do 20 hours.

The problem would be explaining that to an employer. Most employers won't hire someone during a 3C.
